Getting Started with WorkBoardAI Agents

WorkBoardAI Agents are digital teammates that help you lead more effectively by automating workflows and supporting team alignment. Here’s how to get started!

Who can hire agents?

  • Agents are only available to Intelligent Enterprise customers.

  • Within those accounts, WorkBoardAI agents are currently only available for users who manage at least 1 team. The first two agent personas (Chief of Staff and Leadership Coach) help managers and leaders operate more efficiently.

How to hire agents?

  • From anywhere in WorkBoard, click “Teamwork” in the top navigation bar, then click “AI Agents.” From here, you will see the agents you can hire!

  • To learn more about an Agent, click “Hire Me.” The agent will open and it will explain its capabilities.

  • If you want to hire the agent, click “Let’s get started”

  • If you are hiring Leadership Coach, you are ready to go! The Leadership Coach will jump right into to explaining how it can help you.

  • If you are hiring Chief of Staff, there will be a little bit more to do (see below).

Hiring process for Chief of Staff

Once you hire the Chief of Staff, your new digital teammate will ask you some questions to make sure it is helping you in the way you need.

Choose Teams

The agent will first ask you which teams (among those you manage) that you want the agent’s help with. Using natural language conversation, you can:

  • Confirm which teams to include

  • Add/remove teams as needed

  • See more teams if you manage more than the agent can show at once

And don’t worry, you can change the teams that the agent is helping with at any time – either via the agent settings page, or by simply asking the agent.

Set OKRs (Optional)

If it’s early in the quarter and some of the teams you asked the agent to help with don’t have OKRs, the agent will ask if you’d like help setting them now. You can opt in or skip this step.

Review Expectations

Lastly, the agent will provide a summary of its scope and responsibility. That includes:

  • Teams it’s supporting

  • Cadence and notification schedule

  • Weekly nudges and meeting prep

You can make changes to any of these settings now by conversing with the agent, or later through the Agent Settings page.

Connect Integrations

For best results, connect:

  • Slack or Teams (for nudges and updates)

  • Outlook or Google Calendar

The agent will prompt you if integrations aren’t set up.
