Overview
View Permissions allow you to control who can view your OKR. By default, Team OKRs are visible to the entire organization for maximum transparency and Individual Goals are set to Management Can View, which can be edited as needed.
Update View Permissions for Team OKRs
- Edit your Objective by hovering over it and clicking the Kebab
- Select Edit Settings
- Click the Pencil icon next to the name of the objective

Adjust permissions from the dropdown under View Permissions:

Note: an OKR set for a team is always fully visible to everyone on the team the objective is set for. However, you can further customize permissions and visibility by selecting whether the OKR should be shared with:
- Organization Can View: The entire Organization can see the OKR in Alignment and Heatmap views, and search results.
- Management Can View: The upline reporting chain the objective owner (the manager of the OKR owner and their managers up the direct management line of the organizational reporting hierarchy) can view your OKR.
- All Reports to Owner Can View: Everyone who reports into the OKR owner, including their direct reports, and the direct reports of their direct reports all way down their organizational reporting structure will have visibility into the OKR.
- Search for teams or Biz Groups: Share visibility with specific teams or parts of the organization by searching and selecting specific teams or Biz Groups (group of teams nested in a specific part of the organization

- Setting granular permissions for key results separate from the overall objective: Uncheck the checkbox Apply to Objective & Key Results (Checkbox beside Dropdown), if you’d like to option to set unique visibility permissions individual Key Results that differ from the overall Objective.
- Example: An HR team may want an Objective to be shared with the entire organization, but have a couple of specific key results that are only visible to the team itself and executive leadership team.
Update View Permissions for Individual Goals
- Edit your Objective by hovering over it and clicking the Kebab
- Select Edit Settings
- Click the Pencil icon next to the name of the objective

Adjusting view permissions for Individual Goals: By default, all Individual Goals are set to Management Can View, but you can adjust this setting at any time. Select the dropdown under "View Permissions in addition to owner" This field allows you to increase or reduce the number of people in your organization who can view your entire OKR:
- Organization Can View: The entire Organization can view your OKR in the Alignment Views, Heatmap and search results!
- Management Can View: Choosing this option makes the OKR visible to your manager, and their managers up the direct management line.
- Choose Specific Teams (search box): You can set custom view permissions and share your OKR with specific teams
- Setting granular permissions for key results separate from the overall objective: Uncheck the checkbox Apply to Objective & Key Results (Checkbox beside Dropdown) if you’d like to option to modify visibility permissions for each individual Key Result in your Objective.
Steps to Update Specific Key Result Visibility
To restrict view access to specific Key Results and set more granular permissions for key results rather than the entire OKR, uncheck the Apply to objective and key results checkbox on the Objective Permissions model. Effectively, for any key result, you’ll have the option to set and specific unique view permissions.
Note: When mirroring a Key Result with restricted view permissions, ensure that you also modify the view permissions of the subsequent Objective and/or Key Result, so the result is shared with the correct audience.
