Syncing WorkBoard Personal OKRs to Workday Goals & Milestones
This integration enables the automated syncing of WorkBoard Personal OKRs to Workday Personal Goals and Milestones. Below you will find the steps involved to set up and manage this integration. The WorkBoard Workday Goal Integrations can be configured by HR Admins, and the data will automatically be updated every day overnight as users manage their goals and OKRs.
HR Admin Integrates with Workday Goals from their WorkBoard Integration Page

- A system administrator in Workday needs to integrate and authenticate a connection with WorkBoard by navigating to the Integration Page in your WorkBoard account and selecting the option to integrate with Workday.
- Follow the prompts to authenticate and authorize the connection between WorkBoard and Workday.
HR Admin Defines the Cutoff % Progress Values

- Work with the WorkBoard team to define the cutoff percentage progress values that will map to the Workday Goal Completion Statuses; this step needs to be managed in conversation and with the help of the WorkBoard team
- Ensure these values are aligned with the completion statuses configured in your Workday environment (e.g., Not Started, In Progress, Completed)
HR Admin Defines the Time Period(s) for Eligible OKRs
- Specify the time periods for which OKRs should be eligible for syncing; this step needs to be managed in conversation and with the help of the WorkBoard team
- This can be set based on quarterly, bi-annual, or annual periods, depending on your organizational time period configuration in WorkBoard.
WorkBoard Syncs Goals Nightly
- Once the setup is complete, WorkBoard will automatically sync the goals every night.
- For users who track Personal OKRs in WorkBoard: WorkBoard will create corresponding Workday Goals & milestones with matching names, due dates, progress statuses & Goal completion values in Workday.
- When users create OKRs in WorkBoard, WorkBoard will automatically detect and create a copy of these OKRs in Workday overnight.
- Additionally, as the user updates progress on the OKRs, these changes are pushed to the corresponding update statuses & values into Goals in Workday.
- A link back to WorkBoard with the label “Managed by WorkBoard” in the Workday so users can easily identify WorkBoard-managed Goals & get back to the source of truth in WorkBoard with 1 click
- WorkBoard does not change any Workday environment configuration, so Goals and Milestones appear similar to user-created Goals in Workday

- WorkBoard Personal Objective to Workday Personal Goal: A Personal Objective created in WorkBoard is mirrored as a Personal Goal in Workday.
- WorkBoard Personal Key Results to Workday Milestones: Key Results associated with a WorkBoard Personal Objective are mirrored as Milestones under the corresponding Workday Personal Goal.
This synchronization ensures that individual contributions and progress are accurately reflected in both systems, facilitating better performance tracking and review processes.
Syncing Workday Personal Goals to WorkBoard Personal OKRs
This integration allows HR Admins to sync Workday Personal Goals back to appear inside of WorkBoard as Personal Objectives. The integration enables Workday goals to appear in WorkBoard so employees can see their team OKRs and personal goals side-by-side, and have more meaningful coaching and performance conversations that brings the two elements together.

Nightly Sync
- Once the setup is complete, WorkBoard will automatically sync the goals every night from Workday to WorkBoard.
- For users who track Goals in Workday, WorkBoard will create a corresponding Personal Objective and Key Result in WorkBoard with matching names, due dates, progress statuses & Goal completion from Workday.
- When users create Goals in Workday, we automatically detect and create a copy of these OKRs in WorkBoard overnight.
- Additionally, as the user updates progress on their Workday Goals, we push the corresponding update statuses & values to the corresponding WorkBoard OKR.
- Goal statuses are translated from Workday to WorkBoard from a configurable admin-established matrix that maps Workday goal status categories to breakpoints for progress percentages
- The Workday System Administrator can define the integration for all workers in the Workday instance or a subset of users.
- Workday would remain as the primary source of Goal updates for the synced over OKRs. The integration allows individuals to see their Workday Goals & OKRs side by side in WorkBoard.
